Journalists use social media to  promote and advertise and market there work very often. Social media helps get the word around very quickly these days since everything is going digital. The journalists need to be able to keep up and get their work out to the public quickly. A lot of news comes from social media these days and therefore it is easier to promote and advertise and market your work with social media.  Posting your articles on social media networks is easy, but it doesn't guarantee they'll be shared and ignite discussion. That is why journalist need to promote on these social media websites.
 One way to promote is getting your friends on the social media websites and starting a disucssion with them by opening open ended questions and getting lots of comments on subject therefore people follow these comments and then you can provide links to other websites that you have written about these matters. Give your link a catchy headline and a good brief description. Your going to also have to target your audience in promotion of things on social media websites. Not everybody is going to click and read the links you are giving out. Don't preach to the people you already know but go after a certain audience.
Become trustworthy online and provide sufficient amount of evidence of the work you are promoting. People will continue to read if they see you provide enough background information. You also should communicate with the people who follow you or read your stories often because they want some recognition for reading your material they want to feel noticed. You want to have very open minded articles with social media sometimes as well so all opinions can get collected and more and more people will read it if it seems to get their interest. Friend request people you have interviewed is another way to promote your work using social media. They will see you are very active and then another story might come your way because of them. Keeping up with everyone and sharing information and communication is very important to journalist so keep promoting things daily on social media.
Providing lots of links in your content and stories is important and repetition is important on social  media websites as well. Joining groups and keeping conversation open daily is important. Linking to other articles of yours about subjects in your articles is a very easy way to promote as well.  Facebook is very easy to promote their work for journalists. They can Subscribe to pages of other journalists is an easy way to keep the promotion circle going. People get notified every time a new story is posted. You can also use the share button which is easy as well to promote things in stories. Have a blog and put your blog address at the end of each article. Keep following, sharing, promoting and talking with people on social media websites is very easy way for journalists to promote their work, and an important one as well because the more people that read your work the more opportunities you will get.
