How To Use Facebook to Promote Your News Story

By Dylan Tavares

Social media can be a beneficial tool for journalists to promote work to many potential readers. While some people may view social media as a useless tool, it can be extremely helpful. Through the two major social media sites, Facebook and Twitter, journalists can not only promote their work, but have readers share and engage in conversation.

On Facebook, journalists can now allow users to subscribe to their pages. With this tool, subscribers will be notified every time a new story is posted. This would allow readers to keep up with new stories by their favorite journalists. For example, Bob Woodward has allowed users to subscribe to his updates, stories and information.
